Hello web friends,

It’s been half a year since I’ve written to you and there are updates galore.

It’s 12:18am now as I’m writing this, fresh off a late night content planning session.

News: I’m working in a full-time role as a Content Strategist for a Social Media agency in the Food & Beverage industry!

It has been a wild ride. The F&B industry in Singapore has been one of the hardest hit during the pandemic. So the experience has given me the chance to apply and stress test what I know about social media and content creation.

Specifically how content can help a business weather the storm.

Additionally, I have a senior role in the agency, which comes with management and leadership challenges. People management is tough, but at the same time, it has been refreshing meeting new people in real life. Because despite being introverted, the multiple lockdowns has got me stir crazy. So I relished meeting new people and forming new bonds. (In a safe way.)

Lastly, I’d like to share an experience I’ve gotten from the past 3 months.

Before joining the agency I was nervous. I felt imposter syndrome was creeping in again. Resurfacing a nervousness that never went away.

I contempalted, “What more can I add to an agency that specialises in creating content?”

To my surprise, a fair bit.

This realisation came from colleagues finding what I have to say about content new. Writing techniques (shorter sentences) and frameworks (content flywheels) were concepts I assumed everyone knew. Was I taking what I knew for granted? Everyone I knew on Twitter seemed to be an expert on it!

Then I realised how much each of us know individually. And how beneficial it would be to collectively share what we all knew.

It was a great confidence boost. I felt ready to lead the team and take the content being produced to the next level!

But as quickly and satisfying that boost came, it dissipated just as quickly.

As life would have it, what goes up must come down.

I’ll be writing more about my experience in the next issue.

Thanks for reading! If you see this, please drop a like to say hi!

Or better yet, drop a comment and I’d love to hear from you!

PS,
